+ Position Description
  • Assist in administration and discharge of patients
  • Performs basic patient care activities including but not limited to, monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output, completing a withdrawal management scale for drugs and alcohol.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to, personal hygiene and eating.
  • Assists with keeping unit(s) and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Check in, secure, and return the patient's medication, belongings, and valuables per the policy and procedures.
  • Observe and Monitor patient's for physical and mental status changes. This includes logging/recording findings in the patient's chart, and reporting any significant changes to your direct Supervisor on Duty.
  • Maintain accurate patient records per the policy and procedures.
  • Participate in all mandatory meetings and in-service training.
  • Within the scope of the job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor and documents patient interactions as needed. Responds to inquiries or requests for information.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
+ Skills and Abilities
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers and the public.
  • Working knowledge of basic nursing skills.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, regulations and procedures to administer routine patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of de-escalation methods, or ability to be trained.
  • Ability to use EMR system, or ability to be trained.
  • Must be able to function in a team setting, be flexible in attitude, and desire to work with individuals seeking detoxification.
  • Basic skills in identifying and solving problems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of nursing in a detoxification setting.
  • Ability to work day shift or night shift. All shifts are 12 hours.
+ Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have an active valid license as a Certified Nurse Aide in the State of Colorado
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • First Aid training is desirable.
  • Moderate computer literacy
  • Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain in the first month of employment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and reference check.
  • Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policy.
