Recovery starts with connection.
He spent a week here with us completely sober. He looked so much healthier physically when I dropped him off at DIA yesterday. I have no idea if his sobriety will continue now that he’s back home. But for the first time in some time, he has some hope that it may.
Tools for Connection
The art of connection is a lifelong practice that we can always build and get better at. Even if you feel disconnected now, that doesn’t always have to be your story. With a little practice and a willingness to stay real with others, you can start to build your own unique brand of connection, one step at a time.

Guilt and shame are toxic
As a non-profit, we’ve learned that our community is pretty amazing. We know it can be a place where people feel safe; where no one feels guilt, shame or ultimatums around asking for help with substance use problems.

Recovery Resources was born in 2016 from the vision of our Executive Director, Janelle Duhon. Janelle’s vision was simple: Create an organization that helped all people find freedom from the devastation of addiction.

Taking the wheel and learning to drive is a process. There is that incredible day when you hop in the driver’s seat and venture off on your first big road trip. But before that, there’s tons of skills to master. You’ve got to know what all the traffic signals and road signs mean.
